In late September 2017, GoPro released his new Hero 6 Black model. It comes only after one year of your predecessor, Hero 5 Black, if you are trying to decide whether to get HERO6 Black or Hero 5 Black, then there is a detailed breakdown of how they compare.

The specifications of the new GoPro Hero 6 Black Camera have finally been announced, although they have been on the internet all day long. Action camera now officially available, we make direct comparison of glasses for a good old-fashioned GoPro Hero 6 Black VS Gopro Hero 5 Black.

The two cameras may look the same, but there are plenty of important changes internally. Let’s take a look at the difference between the GoPro Hero6 Black and the GoPro Hero5 Black.

GoPro HERO6 Black vs HERO5 Black: In Brief

They look the same. Inside is a new processor that GoPro developed in-house, but the emphasis appears to have been migrating to the new processor rather than introducing new features.

  • higher fps in 2.7K and 1080p video modes

  • video image quality
  • increased video bitrate
  • tweaks to menus and user interface
  • slightly brighter and less contrasty touch screen

BODY DESIGN

Our Gopro Hero 6 Black versus Hero 5 is compared to the beginning and the color compared to the design, and if any, the difference is that Hero 5 was very unimportant, after all, and dramatic changes in style from hero 4 The reason is that till then Hero Hero 4, 3, 2 or Hero is not immediately recognizable as Hero 5.

Before that Hero 3, Hero 3 + and Hero 4 were all looking similar, except for a large number of tattoos from the front. This time GoPro has been even more reserved with the version number. You will see Hero 6 printed on the edge of the lens. See it in the picture at the top of this page.

New Processor Means More Speed

Although both models are still on sale, the GoPro Hero6 Black is essentially an upgraded GoPro Hero5 Black with a faster internal processor which enables vastly increased performance and new capabilities.
Perhaps the most significant benefit of this enhanced speed is the addition of new higher frame rate modes. The GoPro Hero6 Black can shoot 4K video at 60 frames per second (fps) and 1080p Full HD video at up to 240fps.
This means that fast-motion action is captured more accurately with less blurring, but it also means that you can achieve super smooth slow motion effects such as half speed 4 playback and 10x 1080p playback at slow speeds.

On the other hand, Hero 5 Black is limited to 30 FPS recording at a resolution of 4 and 120 fps at 1080p. This means that there is no slow motion mode in 4K and a less impressive 4x slow motion effect on 1080p.

The key to speed speeds is the Gopro’s new house GP1 processor, which doubles the performance of the previous model and allows the company to write more efficient and highly customized code.

Battery Life: HERO6 Black vs HERO5 Black

This is an area where there is no improvement, unfortunately. I have run side-by-side in the same shooting mode and they essentially got the same one in my battery usage.

If you are lucky, the facilities which you turn off and depending on the shooting situation, you will get two hours of shooting. If you are using features like wireless, you will find less, preview through the GoPro app or enter the GPS.

Both use the same 1220 mAh battery, so that you can use your existing battery. I am mixing and matching them without any issue.

Conclusion
While you’d be hard-pressed to tell them apart without careful scrutiny, the GoPro Hero6 Black is a significant upgrade over the Hero5 Black in terms of speed, features and image quality.
If you care about any of these factors, and who doesn’t? the new camera is likely to prove well worth the extra expense.
